Time for Romance

Let love into your home. Love for those closest to you, your life, and your home.

With this newsletter we invite romance and love inside in the form of color, lots of tips, and romantic ideas for easy renewal of your home.

The modern, romantic style is called “New Romance” and is conjured up with just few changes by means of color, wall paper, or accessories.

The use of only few colors will truly enable you to create a romantic atmosphere in your home.

Romantic colors consist of the primary color red (the color of love); this can then be toned into pink, light rose, or purple.

Take a look at the picture to the right and notice how your eyes automatically seek out the pink-colored chair in the mirror.

Romantic colors matching the color of love are all pastels such as light green, light yellow, light blue, and even orange.

These colors allow you to create a New Romance look and thus efficiently and quickly add life and joyful energy to your home.

If you are not willing to “sacrifice” an entire wall to romantic colors, simply add the colors in accessories around the house, such as rugs, towels, dishtowels, flowers, pillows, candles, lamps, pictures, and different ornaments.

Beautiful wallpaper and fabric underline the romantic style in a gorgeous, stylish way. Feel your way with pastel-colored wallpaper.

If you have leftover wallpaper, cover a couple of canvasses and use them as “pictures” on a plain wall.

Use matching fabric to cover pillows, an old chair, an ottoman, a stool, or…

Again, use leftover fabric to cover canvasses.

When changing pillowcases, try mixing romantic patterned fabric with plain color fabric. It will serve as a great, quick and romantic boost to your home.

It is a good idea to change your pillowcases every once in a while. It is an easy and quick way to renew your home whenever you feel like it.

Do not forget about lighting.

  • Use dimmed lighting to create the right romantic atmosphere.

  • Put up lamps in odd ways; for instance by placing beautiful wall lamps in matching frames.

  • Placing two lamps next to each other suggests the symbol of twosomeness, love, and partnership.

  • You can decorate a plain, dull lamp with jewellery or small steel hearts.

  • Do not forget that candles are the icing on the cake.Make sure to have plenty of them in order to achieve a top-notch romantic atmosphere, and remember that it is always a good idea to mix romantic colors – it creates drama.

Adding silver or gold to your accessories offers your New Romance style a touch of glamour and fairytale.

Flowers are a must! They are beautiful and offer their own life to your life and your home. Feel free to choose mixed colors in the name of love and romance.

Romantic Lifestyle Tips

ü  Allure your romantic senses with colors as well as

scent. Like you use perfume on your body, you can buy perfume for your home as well.

üAnother option is scented candles, a well-known item by now.

But use them sparingly; you do not want too heavy a scent. When choosing a scent for your home, make sure to take the season into account so that you don’t end up with a cinnamon theme on a hot summer day, for instance.

üRemember fresh flowers for the bedroom, fresh clean sheets, and pillows in various sizes and romantic colors and patterns.

üRid the bedroom of laundry baskets, computers, TV, and piles of paper. Instead, put on some pleasant music and light some candles.

Place a dish with your favourite chocolates on the night stand – and remember that it is okay to be sinful…

At least once in a while.

üDo something for each other. Put up a message board in the kitchen for small sweet messages or use the magnets on the fridge.

A sweet message can make your day so much better.

üAlways make a deal out of thinking: “What can I do today to make my loved one happy?”.
It is wonderfully positive to do something good for others, and keep in mind that it returns tenfold to you.

It can be small things such as a cup of unexpected good coffee – a glass of champagne on a regular Wednesday – a surprise picnic for breakfast – an unexpected passionate kiss showing your innermost feelings at an unexpected point in time, like in the middle of cooking.

Express yourself. Do not leave positive and flattering words unsaid – they can make all the difference.

I hope that you will find these romantic tips, ideas, and good advice useful in your home as well as to yourself.
